WWII US M3 FIGHTING KNIFE-BLADE MARKED AERIAL-W/ M6 LEATHER SHEATH-SCARCE

Description

Good condition original WWII US Army M3 fighting knife that is an early production example maker marked “AERIAL MARINETTE, WIS.” on the blade along with the model designation. Pommel has a partially visible flaming bomb marking. Blade has original parkerized finish showing some wear and light pitting and a few nicks. Stacked leather washer grip shows some wear and a few small cracks. Fitted in correct original M6 leather sheath that is maker marked “VINER BROS.” and dated 1943. Leather is soft and supple with some wear. The belt loop strap has a tear at the throat. Handle straps have working snap. Stitching and rivets are tight and “zipper teeth” are present. A hard to find Aerial blade marked M3 knife with M6 sheath.
