    A RARE ORIGINAL WWII 1944 dated Machete made by COLLINS & CO. It is stamped "US LEGITIMUS COLLINS & CO 1944".  Also has the "Crown with Hammer" stamp. The blade is 18  inches long and overall length is 23.5 inches. Many of these machetes ended up in the hands of the common infantry Ground Pounder (Army or Marine) and he used them for everything from cutting down jungle growth, hand to hand combat to carving up a wild pig!
