, as most were black, is mint on one side and some scattered light scratches keep it from being mint on the other side. NO cracks or chips The scabbard is EX.++, with no problems, just wear from rubbing against uniform equipment. A truly outstanding example. I remember when these were mint, all you want. High condition Allied Military Fighting Knives have NEVER gone done in value in the 40+ yrs I've been collecting & dealing in them. Over the years as good of an investment as GOLD & SILVER!
