    Description

Here's a WW2 Fighting Knife and original leather sheath.   It recently came out of a local WW2 Vet's estate and was found in his footlocker with lots of other WW2 stuff.  Knife measures 13" long with the blade being 8".   It would be classified as a "make-do" or Theater knife in that it was made from an existing heavy cast brass handle with integral finger guard that came from something else.  It has inlaid ebony wood handles secured to the brass frame.  The blade came from a very old butcher or carving knife that's marked F.&G. HAAG & CO N.Y.  There's a set screw that holds the blade to the handle.  The blade is stiff with some flex. The sheath is handmade and for this knife when it was made.  A great set.
