Veneers refers to thin slices of wood that typically are glued onto core panels to produce flat panels such as doors, tops and panels for cabinets, parquet floors and parts of furniture.
Engineered with a true cross-linking bond between the backer and the face; the excellent joinery and precision sanding of Sheet Veneer ensures color consistency and superior finish.

Color Character:
Teak ranges in color from straw colored (which some consider the most desirable) to dark, dusty brown with fine, dark, contrasting stripes. Flat cut, the mineral streaks provide a contrast grain structure in the cathedral pattern, much like American walnut. Pure golden teak without mineral streaking is available, but rare.
Easily worked with both hand and machine tools and dresses to a very smooth finish if tools are kept sharp. Glues moderately well with fresh, clean cut surfaces despite its oily nature. Naturally durable and weathers well.
Veneer Cut:
Plain Sliced -
The half log, of flitch, is mounted with the heart side flat against the guide plate of the slicer and the slicing is done parallel to a line through the center of the log. This produces a figure to that of plain sawn lumber.
Due to the nature of wood movement, shrinkage and expansion are possible. Wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, while the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the exact same species.
There are many factors that influence the color, grain and appearance of natural wood veneer so the picture you see on our website is a representative sample of that species of veneer. The veneer you receive can be slightly different in color and grain appearance because each tree growing in nature is unique unto itself. Another reason for a difference in color is that you are viewing a sample picture on a digital computer monitor and colors will not reproduce the same on all monitor.
