Found in the Ryazan region of Russia.
Sulgama — clasp brooch with oval or round handle and a movable needle. It is a decorative center of Mordovian breast ornaments.
In the XI—XIII centuries, syulgams with bent and flattened ends, as well as with a thin wire winding, were common. Since the XIII—XIV centuries, narrow 3-sided or flat triangular blades with a rifled ornament are characteristic, and the XVI—XVIII centuries-lobed, decorated with false grain, small rings for pendants. Fullgame merged with wide blades and pendants out of coins, cowry shells, beads have become a distinctive part of women's costume of Mordva-Moksha.
