MAYOLICA CONTRERAS MADE IN MEXICO POTTERY ART CANISTER

This stunning piece of Made in Mexico Pottery is truly a work of Art. The Mayolica Contreras Pottery business has been in operation since the mid 1900's in the town of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico, and is a major tourist attraction from all over the world. Their pottery is famous, collectible and in great demand, for its stunning hand painted floral & fruit designs and rich vibrant colors. The pots are made of low fired terracotta earthenware and should be handled with care. This pot should be hand washed and should never be put into a dishwasher. This is a small, canister shaped pot--- 5" tall, 18" around, with an opening of 5 1/4"- 5 1/2". Since each pot is hand done, the opening is not a perfect circle, nevertheless, the lid does have a lovely snug fit, and the art work lines up perfectly, as you can see in the close-up photos. It's easy to see why these pieces are collectible and pricey--they are that beautiful!!!
