    Young Mexican boy, Angel Chavez (Rafael Campos), is accused of murdering a Caucasian girl. David Blake (Glenn Ford) is a law professor who finds field work at Barney Castle's (Arthur Kennedy), a small law firm. Castle takes Chavez's case, only for Blake to realize Castle's a communist and only took the case to exploit the boy for his own political machinations.
    Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
    Set in California and New York, shot on location in California.
