Jerome Callet Custom Trumpet - Soloist
Jerome Callet hard single trumpet case
I am the original owner of the trumpet. I purchased it new from Jerome Callet in 1988. I've babied this horn over the years. I played it for 5 years, then stopped playing for 18 years. During this time, it was stored in my closet. I picked it back up about 7 years ago and played it up until this year (2019). I've since purchased another horn, and need to sell this one to fund the other.
I doubt you will be able to find a cleaner Soloist trumpet. The horn is immaculate, minimal surface scratches from normal use and polishing. I just had it professionally chemically cleaned. There are 2 very small blemishes on the horn (the vertical line next to the J on the lead pipe was original, and a result of stamping J. Callet on the pipe), which I've tried to capture in the photos. The first is on the lead pipe, which is a small round scratch. The second is a very slight ding on the bell, about halfway down the length of the pipe. It is extremely shallow and I almost couldn't get it to show up at all until I got the light just right.
This is a large bore trumpet (.470). "J.Callet" is stamped on the lead pipe. The bell is engraved with "Soloist Jerome Callet NEW YORK". Second valve is stamped with the serial number (5306) and 470, indicating the bore size. The valves perform superbly, and there is excellent compression in the horn.
There is no mouthpiece included.
