The seventh film adaptation of Victor Hugo's 1831 novel, Jean Delannoy's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was the first made in color and one of the few adaptations to retain Victor Hugo's original ending, with the skeletons of Quasimodo and Esmeralda entwined, found in the charnel house years later.
Shot on location at the cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris.
