    vintage 7 in. Gyrosphere for use in a Gyro Compass -- used in ship/boat navigation and guidance
    -- found with another unit labeled 'Hokushin,' which merged with Yokogawa -- possibly WWII vintage but likely newer -- enclosed in the original wood carrying case with a metal data plate with Japanese characters -- case measures 10 by 9 3/4 by 9 3/4 in.
