Description

Antique Oil Painting On Canvas Signed G.L.Franklin Gd/Cond 29x17" Landscape/Lake
Up for auction is a very fine, antique, oil painting on canvas covered board.  Executed by G.L. Franklin (or perhaps J.G. Franklin).
The choice of colors, striking composition, and extreme attention to detail, mark this as the hand of a master artist.
The frame has some scratches and nicks, and there are a couple of small (1/2"-1") spots where the paint has come off.  Also, there is some staining to the inner frame.
Shipping is at buyer's expense/risk, therefore, this is being s
old “AS-IS” with all faults, no warranties, no return, no refund, sale is final.  Therefore, please inspect before bidding.
When boxed and packed, this will weigh about 15-20 lb., and be very oversized, therefore, flat rate s/h/i w/i the contiguous USA will be .99*.
Price is pretty firm, “make an offer” is for the benefit of the bidders, allowing them to make an offer I can accept, and, thereby avoid a bidding war and buy-it-now.
EXPEDITED shipping available, at extra cost.  International bidders, please contact me for a shipping quote before bidding. Payment due at close of auction.  Please contact me for my only payment option (not paypal) for pick-up and delivery. PayPal OK for shipping.
*A note on shipping expense.  eBay charges a final value fee of 15-20% on not only shipping, but tax, too!?!  Additional expenses: packaging, delivering the item to the shipper, actual shipping cost (FedEx just raised their charges 5%) including insurance, and if media or international, waiting in line at USPS for 15-45 minutes.  Therefore, if the shipping looks a little high, I never see 15-20% of what I ask for.
Usually, for the last 22 years, I have made nearly all of my auctions with 14 day return guarantee.  Ebay has recently begun a "defects, return" requirement.  Which states that only so many returns will be allowed a seller, per year.  When combined with eBay's rule (buried deep within the user agreement) allowing a buyer to return for no reason at all, this is a recipe for disaster.  Liberal returns, will no longer be considered by sellers.  I will reduce the 14 day guarantee auctions which I post.  Now buyers will not have the return guarantees, and the sellers will be sanctioned, for allowing too many returns.  Therefore, eBay has, once again, promulgated rules which do not help either the buyer or seller, and only make both buyers and sellers look for alternative sites.
Buyers are still covered by the eBay money back guarantee,
if an item is materially, not as described in the listing.
I FOLLOW ALL EBAY POLICES AND STRIVE FOR 5-STAR SERVICE EACH AND EVERY TRANSACTION. WHEN YOU GIVE 4 STARS IT MAY SEEM LIKE A GREAT SCORE, BUT, A 4 ON ANY STAR IS 4.0 AND EBAY CONSIDERS THIS A SUB-PAR MARK SINCE THE REQUIREMENT IS 4.40. IF YOU ARE PLEASED WITH THE TRANSACTION PLEASE RESPOND WITH ALL 5 STARS. IF YOU ARE NOT PLEASED LET ME KNOW AND WE WILL WORK TO MAKE IT THAT WAY.
In the rare event of an "Item not as described" claim, returns or refunds will only be accepted based on my description and photos, not information pertaining to the eBay catalog or item specifics. Please see my listing and photographs carefully as these are the only items included. If an item is not photographed or listed it is not included, nor assumed to be.
