Offered in this sale is an 19th century Pittsburgh glass ten rib pillar molded pitcher with an applied handle that I would date to the mid 1800s. It measures roughly 9 1/4" tall x 7 1/2" across from the handle to the spout and weighs 3.7 pounds. It has a ground polished pontil. One unusual technique used in the crafting of this piece is the fact that the entire circumference of the upper rim has been cut and polished along with the thumb rest on the top of the handle and also the tail end at the base of the handle where it is attached to the body. The condition of this piece is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. A nice piece of early American Pillar mold.
Please be sure to enlarge and zoom each image for a close up view of the detail of the decoration and condition. Do not hesitate to send me a message if you have questions or would like additional images.
I always guarantee everything that I sell to be as described. This piece is being sold without a reserve as long as there is an opening bid. The shipping cost within the United States is .00.
