Description

For sale is a Conn Victor 6B Professional Bb Trumpet. It is in absolutely fantastic condition. This trumpet was built during the golden age of Conn, when Conn was located in Elkhart Indiana (as indicated by the serial number - H83258 - about 1966 according to the Conn Loyalist website). It was built to the highest standards and will certainly play to the highest standard. This trumpet is all original except for the mouthpiece receiver which is original but has been professionally repaired by a highly qualified technician. The leadpipe is a "Coprion" leadpipe, meaning that the leadpipe is made of copper. I believe that this gives a warmer sound to the trumpet and also makes the trumpet look a little more beautiful. According to a professional brass repair technician that I know, the 6B was built as a lightweight version of the Constellation model made at that time - the 38B. There were some minor differences, but the biggest difference was the Coprion leadpipe on the 6B and the brass leadpipe on the 38B.
The trumpet shows few signs of use. The lacquer is nearly 100% intact (save a few tiny spots throughout the trumpet - especially on the engraving. There are only a couple of tiny dings that I could find in the bell tail section of the trumpet. None of these are affecting the way the trumpet plays.
The valves are very smooth, have great plating, and all have great compression. The slides all move smoothly, but still have plenty of tightness so that they will not come out of the trumpet without you wanting them to.
The original Conn mouthpiece and case both come with this trumpet. They are both in amazing condition, especially for their age. This trumpet was clearly barely used or cared for meticulously. There is also a Conn marching stand (with some signs of use), a partially used bottle of Conn oil, and the keys to the case. All are inside the case underneath where the trumpet lies.
