    Here is a 1939 F. E. Olds & Son "Super" model trumpet (serial number 6228).  This is a beautiful instrument and it is in great condition for its age.
    This horn is in very good playing condition. The bore of the horn is .460" and the bell is 4 3/4". The horn is made from a combination of nickel silver and yellow brass, and the bell appears to be made from bronze.
    As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a some small dings as well as very light pitting over much of the horn. A previous owner used a trumpet stand with this instrument, and there are many scuff marks inside the bell from the stand. Unfortunately the original second bottom valve cap is missing, so there is a replacement. The finger ring and screw on the third slide have also been replaced. The bell engraving on the tone ring is hand-engraved, and reads: “Super Olds / Made By F. E. Olds & Son Los Angeles Calif. U.S.A.”.
    All the minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This trumpet comes with a mouthpiece in good condition for play-testing purposes and a new lightweight case.
