This listing is for the oval shaped box shown.   Undated presumed to be 1700 no later than civil war 1860s.  Hoping someone can help us more specifically date this.   Measures approx 3 3/8"x2 5/8" x 2" high.
Please see the wire through the hinge.   The type escapes my mind at the moment.
The brass box is a simple design.   The grey colored metal eagle on top is quite ornate.
There was previously a sticker on the bottom and you can see the residue of it and the shinier brass.   There is patina.  There is a tiny hole along the bottom edge where the bottom meets the sides.
Beautiful colonial americana real antique.
Works well.
